The human papillomavirus, (HPV) generally takes months to work its way through a person’s body, but in 10 to 20 percent of cases HPV leaches off cells until it mutates into cancer.

That’s why the medical community is cautioning men and women to protect themselves from particular sexual acts that can eventually trigger an HPV-related cancer. If you’re over the age of 60, doctors warn that your risk of developing the disease is even higher.
