Couples dealing with the lockdown are going to have a lot more time on their hands this long weekend. And that means a higher likelihood of increased physical intimacy. Unfortunately, sex-related cancers will also be on the rise.
The human papillomavirus virus (HPV) is the reason for such concern. It normally takes several months before it is flushed from a person’s body by the immune system. However, there are HPV strains that can fester longer and eventually trigger the onslaught of cancer.
That’s why the medical community is urging men and women to protect themselves from sexual behaviours that can prompt an HPV-related cancer.
