The human papillomavirus virus (HPV) is the most commonly transmitted sexual disease. Approximately 80 percent of Americans will be affected during their lifetimes.

Normally HPV clears up on its own, but 10 – 20 percent of cases do not.

WHAT IS ESPECIALLY TROUBLING: of the 40 strains of HPV, there are at least 15 high-risk versions that are capable of causing mutations in the body that can result in cancer.

That’s why the medical community is warning that a particular sexual behaviour can trigger cellular mutations that can result in an HPV-related cancer. If you are 60 years of age or older, health care professionals believe that you are particularly vulnerable.
